Quarantining With Your Kitties

We are living in a strange, uncertain time and we still don't know when this will actually end. For many of us, 'Netflix and quarantining' with our feline loved ones has become the new norm. If it wasn't for our animal companions, many of us who are living alone would be going INSANE right now.

On a positive note, with all of this free time we have at home, we can use this time to get to know our cats much more. Since they are not used to you being home, it is important to set up a routine for them and balance it with your own.

Here are a couple of tips for quarantining with your kitties:

1) PLAY WITH YOUR CATS.

Now is the time to play more with your cats and help drain their energy. Animals are used to hunting, catching, killing and then eating their pray so playtime before they eat is ideal. Yes, we know you can not play with them all the time, so the Kitty Obsession puzzle toy is perfect for them to play by themselves.

2) DON'T FREE FEED YOUR CATS.

It is important to set up a regular meal time at-least 3 times a day. This way you are balancing their energetic levels and routine with your own. After you play with them is the best time for meal time.

3) LET THEM WINDOW WATCH.

Make sure your blinds or windows are open so that they can watch their "Cat TV." There is nothing more cats love to watch than birds or other animals/ insects outside of the window.

 4) LIMIT CONTACT WITH STRANGERS WHO MAY BE SICK.

I know it's hard to not have people come over, but it's very important to take social distancing seriously and limit contact.

Overall, take time to really appreciate your animal companions. Give them your love and attention when necessary, and take this time to really get to know them better :)
